
I'm Amaranath Pokuri, a Systems & Infrastructure Engineer
I work as a Systems Engineer in the New York area, where I design, build, and support production infrastructure across Linux, Windows, virtualization, automation, and data center operations for a large telecommunications organization.
Experience
My experience spans RHEL, Ubuntu, Debian, and Windows Server environments — from racking hardware and troubleshooting SAN/storage issues to managing VMware vSphere, Cisco UCSM, and automation platforms like Ansible and HP Server Automation. I’ve migrated environments across vCenter versions, built UCS service profiles for blade and rack servers, and written Python and shell scripts to automate repetitive operational work.
Across earlier roles in the industry, I progressed from IT support and network administration into system administration work focused on VMware, cloud resources, patching, and platform migrations.
Automation focus
A large part of my day-to-day work is reducing manual toil. That includes Ansible playbooks for configuration consistency, scripting for operational tasks, automated patching workflows, and tooling that helps teams deploy changes with more confidence and less downtime.
Cloud focus
I work across both traditional data center platforms and cloud technologies. That means understanding how on-premises systems connect to cloud services, how identity and networking models differ between environments, and how automation practices carry over from bare metal to virtual machines to cloud resources.

Build repeatable workflows with Ansible, HP Server Automation, Python, and shell scripting — from patching pipelines to configuration management and release support.

Apply AWS and Google Cloud concepts to hybrid environments, infrastructure automation, and platform modernization alongside on-premises systems.
